Born and raised in Montana, Chad Rice is a northern Nevada artist and high school art educator.  He received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting from the University of Montana as well as a Master's Degree in Education. Chad has lived and worked in the Reno area for the past seventeen years.

Although Chad’s most celebrated pieces are large sculptural works for outdoor spaces, his primary medium is acrylic painting.  In recent years, the focus of his painting has shifted from exploring ways he can manipulate media, to an emphasis on showcasing what liquid media will do on its own.

Chad’s sculptural work has been described as painting across three dimensions.  Using forced-perspective principles, he creates painted images that require the viewer to align many objects in space, creating a single visual experience.
